Escalon’s Cromwell & Ney Insurance has officially awarded a $10,000 donation to the Escalon Strong Foundation, a local nonprofit dedicated to improving quality of life in San Joaquin County by supporting individuals through programs that promote independence, food security, and community wellness. The funds will support Escalon Strong’s continued outreach through its Giving Pantry and help expand their efforts in maintaining and improving Escalon’s recreational sports programs.

Initially, Cromwell & Ney Insurance received a $5,000 donation through the Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance 2025 Make More Happen Awards program for its partnership with Escalon Strong. After their story was featured on the Make More Happen microsite at https://www.agentgiving.com/cromwell-ney-insurance/, members of the Escalon community rallied with over 500 online votes and comments – triggering a matching donation and bringing the total to $10,000.

Cromwell & Ney’s support of Escalon Strong runs deep. Employees volunteer year-round, helping sort pantry inventory and organizing community fundraising campaigns. The agency also promotes garden boxes and donates homegrown plants to the nonprofit’s community garden. Most recently, the team partnered with local businesses to launch a food drive, providing donation tubs and marketing kits to boost participation and ensure collected items reached those in need.

“Recognizing independent agents’ dedication to their communities and nonprofit partners is what the Make More Happen Awards are all about,” said Tamara Adams, Senior Territory Manager, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance. “Cromwell & Ney Insurance is an outstanding example of how agencies can make a real difference, and we hope sharing their story inspires others to give back as well.”

Throughout 2025, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select up to 36 independent agencies nationwide for a Make More Happen Award, donating up to $360,000 to nonprofits they support. Agencies become eligible for the award by submitting applications showcasing their commitment to a specific cause.

After receiving the initial $5,000 donation, Cromwell & Ney staffers and Escalon Strong representatives were active in promoting the Make More Happen effort, seeking votes during appearances at a number of community events.
