Members of the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors have approved $2,503,546 recommended funding for community-based and non-County organizations.
Every year, San Joaquin County awards one-time funding to community-based organizations (CBO)/non-County organizations (NCO), to enhance or expand services aligned with County services or priorities, or to assist with the completion of special projects/initiatives within the community. Funding is not intended to support the organization’s operating budget, but is designed to be additional by nature, allowing the organization to expand services within San Joaquin County.
Award amounts vary depending on the request and the state of the County’s budget. The Board of Supervisors allocated $2.5 million for this year’s program during the 2025-2026 budget process. This year, 43 organizations were recommended for funding, totaling $2,503,546.
Following the meeting, Fifth District Supervisor Robert Rickman – who represents Escalon on the county board – stated, “Funding a nonprofit isn’t just about keeping the lights on – it’s about fueling hope, providing essential services, and strengthening the fabric of our community.”
