At the Monday, March 16 Escalon City Council meeting, Police Chief Anthony Hardgraves, center, presented awards to a pair of EPD officers. Named as the Rookie of the Year was Officer Brandon Gunter, left, while Officer Abraham Palomino received recognition as Officer of the Year, winning the award for the second year in a row. Several fellow Escalon officers were in the audience at the council meeting to support Gunter and Palomino; Hardgraves indicated both are exemplary officers who serve the city and its residents well.
