It was a very festive atmosphere at Soul Coffee on Main Street in Escalon this past Saturday evening, Dec. 13, as Santa Claus, The Grinch and Sparky the Fire Dog all joined in to read to kids, who also had the opportunity to enjoy coloring, hot cocoa, and taking pictures with the guest readers. Several Escalon firefighters, including reserves, also turned out to help with the event, which was organized by C Shift Engineer and acting Company Officer Ryan Burr and firefighter Dylan Criteser. Fire Board member Laura Catrina also stopped by the event, and the fire department issued its thanks to Soul Coffee for providing their space and the hot cocoa for all to enjoy.
