There was a good turnout for the recent Bunco Night hosted at Saron Lutheran Church in Escalon, with a baked potato bar dinner, the Bunco games and opportunity drawings all on the evening’s schedule.
Organizers said the annual event brought in around $5,000. There were an estimated 100 in attendance; all enjoyed the baked potato bar dinner and many also stayed to take part in the Bunco games that followed.
The Bunco Night has been a staple for over a decade. There were close to four dozen items available in the opportunity drawings and there was also a quilt drawing.
This is one of several annual events hosted by the church, on North Street in Escalon, to help raise funds for a variety of church needs. Plans are also in process now for the upcoming Kris Kringle Market, a holiday boutique that always draw in plenty of shoppers.
