Music, ice cream and an outdoor market are all on the calendar during August in Escalon.
First up, the final of three Concert in the Park events, hosted through Gather Around Main, is scheduled for Friday night, Aug. 8 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the city’s Main Street Park. Redshift7 is the featured band for this last concert of the summer. Food vendors on hand for purchases during the evening will be Tacos de Nieve and Fagundes Food Truck, while free ice cream will once again be provided by Don Bionaz, Bionaz General Builders. The series has had two successful musical evenings already and organizers are hoping for another good turnout for the third concert.
Also, a little later in the month, ice cream will be the focus for the Escalon United Methodist Church, which has scheduled its annual Ice Cream Social on Saturday, Aug. 16. Hours are 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the church social hall, 2000 Jackson Ave., Escalon. The social serves up a number of homemade ice cream flavors along with some other sweet dessert treats. No charge, but donations are accepted.
And the Escalon Chamber of Commerce will host its final Farmer’s Market event, on the calendar for Wednesday, Aug. 20 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., downtown in the Main Street Park. This will be the fifth and final third Wednesday night market for the community, the Chamber completing a multi-month run that kicked off in April.
