Dust off your boombox and relive the magic of childhood summers – without the curfew. The Modesto Children’s Museum (MoChiMu) is throwing it back to the golden age of bucket hats, Tamagotchis, and friendship bracelets with MoChiMu After Dark: ‘90s Summer Camp, an adults-only event on Friday, June 27 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Open to guests 18 and over, this nostalgic evening invites grown-ups to dive into a night of retro fun, complete with classic summer camp snacks, legendary “Bug Juice,” and iconic ‘90s activities. Craft a friendship bracelet, weave a bead lizard like it’s 1999, or step into a world of imagination with Dungeons & Dragons hosted by Meeple Valley.
The highlight of the night? A full-on ‘90s pop roller rink on the museum’s first floor. Guests are encouraged to bring their own roller skates and cruise through the neon haze of throwback hits and disco lights.
“MoChiMu After Dark is about reclaiming the magic of youth – especially for the ‘90s generation who grew up in a world of Walkmans, kickball, and campfire stories,” noted organizers.
This event is the perfect chance for adults to let loose, get nostalgic, and create new memories.
Pre-sale tickets are $25; cost is $30 at the door. MoChiMu is at 928 11 St., Modesto.
The dress code for the evening is as follows: Come dressed in your best ‘90s summer camp gear – think bucket hats, overalls, flannel, and fanny packs.
Whether you were team NSYNC or Backstreet Boys, this night promises a blast from the past in the most unforgettable way. Don’t miss the chance to relive your best camp memories – with a grown-up twist.
