Rose Silva, 94, passed away at Bethany Home in Ripon on Oct. 1, 2007.

Born on June 25, 1913 in Novato, California to Emilio and Josephine Filippini, the family moved to Stockton when she was 2 years old. In 1929 she moved to Farmington and lived there until 1973, moving to Escalon when she retired from Hershey Chocolate Factory. She enjoyed cooking and working in the yard.

She is survived by her children Josephine and her husband Richard Lial of Escalon and David Silva of Sunnyvale; her grandson, Rick Lial of Escalon; and her brother Babe and his wife Lois Filippini of Manteca.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carlos Silva in 1991, her sister Caroline Lee, and her brother Peter Filippini.

Services will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Friday, Oct. 5 with visitation starting at noon and Rosary Mass starting at 1pm. Burial will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Bethany Home, 930 West Main St., Ripon, CA 95366.
