Orcas Keep Up Furious Pace In Pool
With a couple more swim meets remaining in the 2007 Escalon Orcas Swim team season, the local youngsters continue to practice and hone their skills on a weekly basis.

The team has had several meets so far this year, including a Friday, July 20 event hosted by Riverbank. The team has been participating in tri meets, swimming against both Riverbank and Patterson each Friday since June 22. This week's meet, Friday, July 27, is scheduled at Patterson and Escalon is slated to host the season finale for the three teams at its pool on Friday, Aug. 3.

Practices for the Orcas are on Mondays and Wednesdays, with the younger swimmers, 10 and under, in the pool from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. and the older swimmers, 11 and above, coming in from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
