Martha Pauline Sandall French, 90, passed away on Sept. 12, 2007 at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Stockton.

She was born on July 29, 1917 in Bradshaw Nebraska to Elsie (Peterson) and Ernest Sandall.

Martha moved to Escalon as a child in 1923, attended local schools and graduated from Modesto Junior College. She moved to Stockton in 1938 and attended College of Commerce. She worked as a bookkeeper for 26 years for P.G. & E. and Meyer-West in Stockton. She was a resident of San Joaquin County for 84 years. She was a member of the Escalon Historical Society, Faith Lutheran Church for 60 years and a current member of Zion Lutheran Church. Her grandchildren were the focus of her life for the past 30 years. She also enjoyed her home and garden and was an avid San Francisco Giants fan.

Survivors include her children, Brian and Cindy French of Lodi, Cynthia and Kevin Guest of Stockton and Jeffrey and Carol French of Stockton; her grandchildren, Melissa First of Stockton, Ryan Guest of San Luis Obispo, Kristine Guest of San Diego, Kelly Guest of Stockton, Cortney French of Stockton and Devin French of Stockton.

She was married to Milton French, who passed away in 1992. Her brother Casey Sandall preceded her in death in 2001.

Services were on Saturday, Sept. 15; graveside service was at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon and her memorial service was at Zion Lutheran Church in Stockton.
