Larry Stanley, 50, passed away on Friday, Aug. 24 in Fresno, just a few days away from his 51st birthday.

Born on August 27, 1956 in West Memphis, Arkansas, he had been a resident of Escalon for 20 years.

Larry is survived by his wife of 20 years, Patti Stanley; his mother-in-law Wanda Smith of Escalon; and his aunt Rachel Peltier of San Diego. He became very close to the Allen's of Modesto and numerous cinema employees who he thought of as his kids.

He founded and ran The Pacific Comics Update "PCU", first in print and then in a web based publication. He would review books, movies and comics; he also reviewed them for other companies. He enjoyed reading, driving, watching movies and playing with his dogs.

He was a member of Davis Park Church of Christ in Modesto and Escalon First Baptist Church.

His memorial service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. at Escalon First Baptist Church, 1511 Catherine Ave. in Escalon.

Deegan Funeral Chapel, Escalon, is in charge of arrangements.
