Joseph Soares Cordeiro, 79, died Friday, Aug. 3 in Oakdale.
Mr. Cordeiro was born on the island of Flores, Azores. He was a resident of Oakdale and the surrounding area for 50 years.
He was raised in Graciosa in the Azores and immigrated to the United States in 1951. He was a dairyman in the Escalon/Oakdale area for more than 30 years. He was a member of FES and SES of Oakdale. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and cooking for his family.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Evelyn; children, Rosie (Doug) Campbell of Oakdale; Frank (Mary) Cordeiro of Oakdale; and Dianne Cordeiro of Twain Harte; siblings, Tony Santos of Oakdale, Al Cordeiro of Escalon, and Mary Wehner of Brookings, Oregon; and grandchildren, Frank Cordeiro, Jr., Teresa Ann Cordeiro, Andrew Campbell, and Marissa Campbell, all of Oakdale, Jagger Faria of Wales, UK, Porsche Faria and Josef Faria of Twain Harte.
