Eddie Bridges, 19, of Escalon passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 7 as a result of a tragic accident. He was born on July 26, 1988 in Modesto.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Rita and Bernard Fyock; his father Edmond Bridges; his brother John Bridges; and his seven sisters, Crystal, Erica and Rita Bridges, Amy York, Elisa and Brittany Fyock and Jaqueline Nivens; grandmother Frieda Shleiss; grandparents Wanda and Jim Swam; and grandfather Nick Bavaro.

Eddie was cofounder of a club he and his friends started, KMET. He enjoyed playing the guitar and if you were lucky enough, he would sing in front of you as well. He liked to skateboard and have barbeques with his friends and family. Eddie was a fun loving, kind and lively person. He was a friend to many in Escalon, Modesto and Elk Grove. Anyone would tell you how he loved to make people laugh at all of the jokes he had. He touched everyone he knew in some way and was willing to take the shirt off his back for anyone. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation was Aug. 13 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Deegan Funeral Chapel, Escalon. The rosary and mass was on Aug. 14 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial followed at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Escalon.
