The Modesto Symphony Orchestra (MSO), led by music director David Lockington, will present Disney in Concert: Tale as Old as Time, Friday, June 3, at 8 p.m. and Saturday, June 4 at 2 p.m. at the Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto. It is the third concert in the MSO’s Hilmar Cheese Company Pops Series and final concert of the MSO’s 85th Season. The concert features the Modesto Symphony Orchestra with guest vocalists Andrew Johnson, Lisa Livesay, Whitney Claire Kaufman and Aaron Phillips performing many of Disney’s most well-known songs from their animated movies while the movie clips will be screened above the orchestra on stage.

Caroline Nickel, Modesto Symphony’s President and CEO, believes this concert will help engage a new audience, while appealing to the symphony’s core supporters.

“Any time you add the Disney name to a production, you’re instantly expanding your audience base in a positive way,” Nickel said. “And there’s such a wide date-range of material to choose from in this show that everybody is sure to hear a song that helped define their childhood. It was also important for us to end our season with a concert that reached into the community and welcomed, frankly, an audience that may not attend the symphony very often. Our aim is to continue offering concerts that attract more children and more families.”

Performances will be staged at Gallo Center for the Arts, Mary Stuart Rogers Theater, 1000 I St., Modesto. Tickets start at $19 and are available through the Gallo Center for the Arts Box Office at (209) 338-2100.

Ticket Office hours are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays noon to 6 p.m.
